Abu Dhabi, UAE (Feb. 17, 2025) – Flyer Defense, in collaboration with the International Golden Group (IGG), will debut the Flyer 60-6, the latest innovation in its proven family of light tactical ground mobility vehicles, at the 2025 International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi. Engineered to enhance mission adaptability and fleet efficiency, the Flyer 60-6 consolidates multiple vehicle roles into a single, reconfigurable platform, offering unmatched versatility, durability, and combat-ready capability in a compact, internally air-transportable solution.
Ushering in a new class of ultralight tactical vehicle technology, the Flyer 60-6 delivers superior maneuverability, while maintaining off-road performance and payload capacity. At 60 inches wide, the vehicle’s narrow footprint facilitates navigation through dense terrain and tight urban environments, while its low profile reduces its battlefield signature.
Purpose-built to serve multiple mission roles, the Flyer 60-6 can rapidly reconfigure from a troop carrier with seating for six soldiers to a weapons platform, logistics utility vehicle, or medical evacuation unit, enabling maximum operational flexibility. With a robust 3,500 lb. payload capacity, it delivers the capability of much larger tactical vehicles while maintaining agility and transportability.
“With the Flyer 60-6, we’re redefining what an ultra-light tactical vehicle can do,” said Oded Nechushtan, Founder and CEO of Flyer Defense. “This platform eliminates the limitations of traditional ULTVs, offering true off-road capability, payload capacity and battlefield adaptability in a single vehicle. It’s the ultimate solution for militaries seeking operational flexibility without compromise.”
The Flyer 60-6 meets all internal transport requirements for the V-22 Osprey and is internally and externally transportable in the CH-47, C-130 and C-17 aircraft.
The Flyer 60-6 shares 80% parts commonality with Flyer Defense’s larger Flyer 72 platform, which is in use by United States Special Operations Command as the Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 Program of Record and boasts a 20-year lifecycle in active military service.
