Colorado Springs, CO (June 27, 2024) – On Sunday, two Flyer 72 Ground Mobility Vehicles (GMV 1.1) successfully participated in the 2024 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC). The historic motorsport event, known for its rigorous course, saw Green Berets from the 10th Group Special Forces (Airborne) driving the Flyer vehicles to a successful finish, carrying the race’s checkered flags to the summit.
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, often referred to as the “Race to the Clouds,” has been a benchmark for automotive innovation since its inception in 1916. The 12.42-mile course, with its 156 turns and elevation gain of 4,720 feet, culminates at the 14,115 ft. peak, challenging even the most advanced vehicles and skilled drivers.
