Our People and Culture
Flyer Defense was born from the direct operational experience of veterans of special operations, who saw a capabilities gap in the lightweight wheeled tactical vehicle market.
Our ability to understand the often unique and highly demanding requirements of elite special operators throughout the world allows us to continuously evolve our product to provide the best-in-class performance and mission configurability.
"In partnership with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, we are producing the finest and most capable lightweight tactical wheeled vehicles in the world today. The Flyer 60 and Flyer 72 are easily configurable to a variety of mission sets, are air transportable, rugged and will perform under the most demanding conditions."
- Oded Nechushtan, CEO, Flyer Defense
Flyer Defense has a proven history of developing specialized, highly mobile, wheeled tactical military vehicles which are easily transportable and can perform and prosecute a variety of mission sets. Dating to its earliest forays with its first-generation Flyer design during the 1990’s, Flyer Defense focused on building high-performance yet lightweight chassis which were rugged yet lightweight, mated to a suspension and powertrain which would enable superior off-road performance in terms of ground clearance, angle of approach and departure, and reasonable range and payload carrying capacity.Explore Full CapabilitiesExplore Full Capabilities
Special Operations & elite forces can't accept compromise. And neither can we.
In 2013, U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) announced the selection of the General Dynamics / Flyer Defense entry as the winner of the GMV 1.1 Program. We are currently in the process of fulfilling an initial order of nearly 1,300 vehicles specifically for SOCOM use, with an additional 295 vehicles now on order for five Airborne Infantry Brigade Combat Teams.
Flyer vehicles are also being delivered internationally to several customers.
